Hope Harris, FLE

Hope Harris brings a unique perspective to her ministry, having once been deeply involved in LGBTQ activism before surrendering her life to Christ in 2009. Through her personal journey of faith and transformation, she has grown passionate about walking alongside parents who struggle with the realities of their children’s LGBTQ identities. Hope offers compassionate support for parents who may feel heartbroken, confused, or uncertain, helping them navigate these challenges while remaining rooted in their Christian faith.

With over 30 years of experience in social work, leadership, and ministry, Hope is a seasoned communicator and trusted mentor. She currently serves as a leader at One Community Church in Plano, Texas, where she invests in discipleship, counseling, and equipping believers to hold to Biblical truth while fostering healthy, grace-filled relationships. Drawing from both her professional expertise and her testimony, Hope leads this parent support group as a safe, Christ-centered space for encouragement, honest conversation, and renewed peace in God’s promises.

Parent Support Group Meets Virtually on Thursday Eve

Life-giving Scriptures from Hope:

“I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.” John 14:27 NLT

Calling the crowd to join his disciples, he said, “Anyone who intends to come with me has to let me lead. You’re not in the driver’s seat; I am. Don’t run from suffering; embrace it. Follow me and I’ll show you how. Self-help is no help at all. Self-sacrifice is the way, my way, to saving yourself, your true self. What good would it do to get everything you want and lose you, the real you? What could you ever trade your soul for?” Mark 8:34-37 The Message

“My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So, I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” Galatians 2:20 NLT
